The Math of Stripping Copper Wire
Suppose you have 10 kg of insulated household wire worth 18 SAR/kg (Total = 180 SAR).
If you strip that wire, the plastic insulation weighs approximately 4 kg. You are left with 6 kg of bare copper, worth perhaps 32 SAR/kg (Total = 192 SAR).
You gained only 12 SAR in total profit, but spent two hours using a utility knife risking finger cuts. In most residential cases, selling the cable insulated is far smarter.
Important Note
When Stripping Makes Sense: Heavy high-voltage power cables (pencil-thick or thicker) where recovery is 70%+ and a motorized stripper is available.
